The legendary beaker mugs are coveted prizes
A Team Competition for sixth-form students
Chemistry Race 2026 will be on 7 February
Cambridge Chemistry Race is a chemistry competition for teams of three to five sixth-form pupils with the teams racing against each other to solve unusual chemistry problems. Problems are marked by our examiners in real time and a live leader-board is on display. Whoever gets the most points within the time limit wins!
All non-electronic resources are allowed as the problems are set to test understanding of principles rather than knowledge.
Chemistry-themed prizes (including the legendary beaker mugs) are awarded to the three top teams.
Chemistry Race is an international competition that originated at the University of Pardubice, Czechia.
